Haslemere Office (HQ)

Here is where the paperwork and finances are carried out for the children to travel here from Minsk, Belarus.

It is a very busy office with just the five of us. We are:

Victor Mizzi M.B.E. - Chairman/Trustee/Founder. Victor was the first foreigner to be awarded the countries highest award, the Order of FRANCYSK SKARYNA. He is the boss and makes the final decisions on all aspects. As founder, Victor has been doing this job since 1991. He works around 70 voluntary hours per week for the benefit of the children of Belarus. Everything that leaves this office does not carry any authority without his signature. During peak times the children arrive 3 days a week and Victor meets them all at Gatwick airport and sees them off a month later. He has my full support and respect.

Dennis – National Co-ordinator. He is an aid to Victor assisting with general duties, co-ordinating overall operation, organising projects, liaising with Belarus authorities and CCLL’s office in Minsk. In conjunction with Kevin he is looking after this website as well as getting involved into other activities.

Fiona - Admin/Secretary/P.A. Fiona does all the Invitations, Reseravtions, and Passenger lists for the children to be able to get a seat on the plane. She also takes care of the newsletter and Victor's letters and pretty much all the typing and filing. She also makes sure that all our records are kept up to date.

Dennis - Family Support Project. This is an additional project under the umbrella of CCLL. The project supports poor and needy families in Belarus who are suffering particularly as a consequence of the disaster and economic situation. The Belarusian families are sponsored by families from the UK.

Sue- She is looking after CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) clearance applications. She also assists with general correspondence and communication with Links.

Kevin - Admin/Accounts/Driver/Postmaster/Teaboy/Email and Internet Supervisor. As you can see my job is very varied. I keep the links details and sort out all their monies (all 200 ledger accounts). I take Victor to the airport twice a week and run around doing errands. They tell me I make the best tea and got stuck with the job title! I also filter the emails before Victor gets them and now I have been put in charge of filling this website and keeping it up to date.

Having said this we all chip in and help each other from time to time as necessary.
